THE OVERVIEW

The CommScope Ignition Program leverages the excitement of motorsports racing to advance STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) learning across the United States while offering solutions to increase access to reliable networks, including public Wi-Fi. CommScope was joined by Trackhouse Racing and WAV to bring NASCAR Driver Daniel Suárez to six schools across the nation in an effort to excite students on the many ways STEM is used within motorsports.

THE PLAN

Zach Hubeck, EVP of Marketing at WAV approached CommScope and our agency with a request for a video explaining the Ignition Program and highlighting the people behind the program's success. Due to the amount of people involved and the informative nature of the video, the decision was made to make the video on the longer side to ensure all stakeholders had ample camera time. We were lucky enough to be able to shoot at the Trackhouse Racing facilities which offered a very cool backdrop for the interviews. The ability to interview all stakeholders involved meant we could really frame how each party contributes and what it means to them being a part of the program. The video was meant as an awareness tool and conversation starter for both CommScope and WAV's customers and prospects.

THE RESULT

Due to the tight schedules across the 5 parties, we scheduled a half day to capture the five interviews and accompanying footage. Because of the ever changing backdrop of the working shop, I opted to shoot all five interviews in a single location to maximize time and ensure no talent was ever waiting on setups. The workshop B-roll was made possible because of a quick walking tour with Daniel and Zach and was one of the cooler things I've been able to do in awhile. While the resulting video is very specific, it has been a success for WAV and has started numerous conversations within their customer and prospect base.
